Day 13 Evening
First let me say, today was a great step forward. Our God is certainly rather wonderful!!! Grace has had almost all her tubes removed today. She still has a cannula, a feeding tube, which will come out real soon I should think, heart and oxygen monitors and I think that's about it. She has been allowed to start eating some pureed fruit, and she is very thirsty. She has had her hair washed for the first time in two weeks. Can you imagine the knots in her lovely long hair? Honestly, its a bit like a birds nest, poor thing. Next time we wash it well deal better with the knots. She has also been able to sit up for a bit today. Jonnie was able to come in to see her today and she thoroughly enjoyed seeing her big bro. THEY had a conversation about Star Gate. She has hardly said anything else. There must be something special about Jonnie!!! When we left her she was sleeping. Hopefully, again, we might get out of ICU tomorrow! Well have to wait and see. The Lords timing is best so we will wait and continue to take one day at a time. Praise God with us that He is healing our Gracie girl! :)

So great to hear how she is improving.
ReplyDeletePraise God for the steps forward today! I know its seemingly insignificant but a good way to get out knots in dry hair is pantene intense smoothing leave on creme. It take some of the pain out of combing through knots too! You're all in our prayers every day. Thanks heaps for the updates :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the hair tip Elizabeth. I certainly will try it. It would be a real shame to think that we might just have to shave her head for World's greatest shave!! She may not enjoy that :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that- Jonnie and tv shows, I rarely see Grace as excited as when she gets to chat to him about their fav tv shows :) Praise God for such wonderful progress!
